My work has been recognized by global awards, including a first place award from the United Nations for an interactive multimedia project. Having seen the effects of violence on a first-hand basis and messages of hate it can bring to youth, I founded The Voice of Youth, an award-winning youth network spread across 151 countries of the world. Currently, I am working on The Freedom Traveller to connect and empower female travellers, especially from the countries where freedom of movement for women is restricted. I enjoy learning new things, meeting new people and documenting my life through photographs or words.
2013 to date
The Freedom Traveller is an award-winning initiative working towards the realization of women’s right to mobility. It connects and empowers female travellers, especially from the countries where freedom of movement for women is restricted, with a platform where women of all nationalities and beliefs can actively network, share knowledge and resources, and map their experiences of travel.
2010 to 2013
The Voice of Youth is an award-winning youth network spread across 151 countries of the world. It encourages young people to post their thoughts on a number of topics, ranging from gender discrimination and child marriage to youth activism and living in a conflict zone. It lends youth an outlet and helps to shape their perspectives by presenting different views on popular social issues and developing values of acceptance, tolerance and broad-mindedness. The website’s contributors have expressed extreme gratitude for the opportunity to express their thoughts—in photos, poetry, stories and opinion pieces—and engage in meaningful conversations with others around the globe.

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it. - Henry Ford
AnonI listened to you at Global Media Forum and felt very close to you as a woman. I am living in Turkey, I preferred being ignored instead of being harrased all my life and it made me invisible. Invisible and safe but not free, not alive. I kept to myself for years. Then when I came abroad to study for a semester I understood what kind of hell I was living in! I congratulate you for your courage, because I hate public speaking. Once I gave a presentation for half an hour and had to stay at my room for three days dealing with post-stress. You also said that you worked a lot on your speech and let me tell you that you are very good at it now. I am happy to meet you, and I hope one day I can be inspiring like you. Hugs.
